A host of art photographs are up for bid at Sotheby’s in New York on October 9th.  The selection includes pieces by Cindy Sherman, Man Ray, Richard Avedon, Irving Penn and Robert Mapplethorpe.  Six full frontal nudes of Kate Moss by Chuck Close from 2003 are estimated at $100,000 - $150,000.  Twelve semi-nude images of Marilyn Monroe, shot by Laurence Schiller are estimated at $50,000 - $70,000-.
