12th Annual Masturbate-a-thon. Initially started by San Francisco’s Good Vibrations as a response to Bill Clinton firing US Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders in 1994 for advocating masturbation. All are welcome as participants or voyeurs and anyone can sponsor by the minute or the orgasm (it’s also a fundraiser). Last year’s record for the most orgasms was 6 for men and 49 in women. The best masturbator award went to Japan’s Masanobu Sato who spent a dizzying nine hours and 58 minutes with his cock in his hand.

From ancient Greece and Rome to Spencer Tunick and Dolly Parton (“Sometimes I like to run naked in the moonlight and the wind, on a little trail behind our house, when the honeysuckle blooms. It’s a feeling of freedom, so close to God and nature.”), a look at the the idea of nudity from then until now. Fascinating.
